Lowry

A 10-part Action/Drama Based on a True yet Undertold Story

Logline: In the waning days of the Civil War, Native American outlaw Henry Berry Lowry turns to guerrilla warfare to rise against authority and make a better life for his family.

Synopsis:

Set in Robeson County, North Carolina, between 1864 and 1872, Lowry tells the legend of HENRY BERRY LOWRY, the Lowry Gang, and their fight for freedom in a racially divided South.

Henry is a Lumbee Native American who always puts his people first. He’s the Robin Hood of Robeson County, whose revenge tour draws from Django Unchained and Hell on Wheels

Like Newton Knight in Free State of Jones, Henry and his mixed kin hide in the swamplands, using guerrilla tactics to eliminate those still loyal to the Confederate flag.

He’s married to the beautiful Rhoda Strong, the Queen of Lowry Land. All he wants is a better life for his family, though his choices continually put them at risk. Gunpowder becomes the answer to his problems… and the cause of them, too.

Nobody knows what happened to Henry once the bullets stopped flying. Some say he escaped with his own bounty; others say he was killed in the crossfire.

But it’s the captivating story of his life and the mystery surrounding his death that makes the legend of Henry Berry Lowry a tale worth telling.
